Established in 2011 by Govt. of J&K, and recognized by UGC under 2(f) & 12 (B), the College started from a makeshift arrangement at Govt. Middle School Sulkoot and continued to function from there up to 2020. The main College campus, spread over an area of approx. 80 kanals of land in village Sulkoot on Kupwara - Halmatpora road, 1.25 KMs away from the main town, is surrounded by dense pine forests along North, West and Eastern side, and vast rice fields towards the southern side. The infrastructure of the College comprises a magnificent 3-storey Academic Block, an under construction 3-Storey Library-cum-Administrative Block, a Canteen/Cafeteria Block and 02 Toilet Blocks. The College has been offering UG courses in Arts stream since 2012 and from 2021 the College started Science (Medical and Non-Medical) stream as well. In order to facilitate students coming from remote and far flung areas a UGC funded (PMDP) 120 bedded Girls' Hostel is under construction within the College campus which is expected to get completed by the end of the financial year 2021-22.
